The iconic Shopping Brasília in Porto celebrated its 50th anniversary and invited me to commemorate the occasion by creating a large-scale interior artwork.
It was with great pleasure that I accepted the challenge, as this space – much like it did for so many others in the city – left its mark on my own childhood and adolescence.
This sense of nostalgia served as the inspiration for exploring the evolution that has taken place over these 50 years, through elements that have transformed over time – elements which, much like Shopping Brasília itself and the city of Porto – have adapted and shaped themselves to fit the modern era.
The past, the present and the future, all together.
